Forever Story Australia (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates Forever Story, a personalised bedtime-story service available at https://foreverstoryapp.com (the “Service”). We respect your privacy and handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
1. Who this Service is for
The Service is intended to be set up and operated by an adult parent or guardian. Accounts are for adults (18+). Children do not create accounts or interact with the Service directly; a grown-up provides the inputs and presses play.
2. Information we collect
- Account information — your name and email address, collected when you sign in (via Google or email), and managed through our authentication provider (Firebase Authentication).
- Story inputs you provide — the details you enter to personalise a story, which may include a child's first name (as the story's hero), a world description, age band, an optional companion or pet name, and preferences such as a gentle lesson.
- Generated content — the stories, character casts, and audio narration we create for you, and a short running summary used to continue ongoing sagas.
- Billing information — your subscription tier and usage. Card payments are handled by our payment processor (Stripe); we do not store full card numbers.
- Technical information — basic device, browser, and log data needed to run and secure the Service.
3. How we use information
- To create, perform, and deliver your personalised stories.
- To create and manage your account and subscription, and to provide support.
- To maintain the security, reliability, and quality of the Service.
- To contact you about your account or important changes (and, only with your consent, occasional updates).
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Children's information
Any information about a child (such as a first name used as the story's hero) is provided by the account-holding adult and is used solely to personalise that family's stories. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided us information without a parent's involvement, contact us at info@foreverstoryapp.com and we will delete it.
5. Service providers we share information with
To run the Service we use trusted third parties (“sub-processors”) who process information on our behalf. Your story inputs are sent to AI providers to generate the text and voices:
- Google — Gemini (story text generation), Firebase & Google Cloud (authentication, database, storage, hosting).
- ElevenLabs — text-to-speech voice synthesis of your stories.
- Stripe — subscription billing and payments.
Each provider handles data under its own terms and privacy policy. We share only what is needed for them to perform their function.
6. Storage, security & overseas transfers
Information is stored on cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud / Firebase) and protected with reasonable technical and organisational measures. Because our providers operate globally, your information may be stored or processed overseas (including in the United States and other countries). By using the Service you consent to such transfers, on the understanding we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the APPs.
7. Retention & deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. You may ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by contacting info@foreverstoryapp.com.
8. Your rights
You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you, and you may withdraw consent or make a privacy complaint. Contact us at info@foreverstoryapp.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
9. Cookies & local storage
We use essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and to run the Service. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the Service or by email. The “last updated” date above shows the current version.
